The 5th grade moving-up program joins the community and the school district. The planning is extensive as it includes four different schools located on the four corners of the school district. On the day of the ceremony, the intent is to make everyone feel that the approximately five hundred students have been together all year. This was further complicated this year due to the fact that there was only two days of joint rehearsal. Background information that had to be synthesized included, but was not limited to, the dress, music, as well as the speaking parts. This caused for a great deal of coordination. Letters were generated to all parties and scripts were prepared to cover all details. Briefings also had to take place and of course funding for the flowers, student medallions, and buses for schools too far to walk had to be secured.
